Most of the whole house standby generators we install are air-cooled models. Their familiar enclosures look the same from the outside, but the size of the engine determines their available output. Modern residential standby models will produce up to 24kW of electricity in the event of an outage. This is more than enough to keep the lights on and the freezer running int he event of an outage. But larger homes and commercial properties require a larger solution, like this liquid cooled 32kW model from Generac.
